About Avklare
Why we built this
Many years and many, many to-do apps later, we had yet to find a to-do application that presented our priorities in a meaningful way. Most to-do apps just make our lists longer. Everything in one column, maybe separated, maybe with color, tasks given the same weight, maybe with a date attached — the dentist appointment next to the thing that could actually impact your bottom line this quarter. Nothing told us what to do first.
Avklare is built around a simple idea that's decades old but still underused: not everything urgent is important, and not everything important is urgent. The Eisenhower Matrix — plotting tasks by urgency and importance — has been around since long before software existed. We just wanted it to feel as good digitally as it does on a whiteboard.
What Avklare is
Avklare is a personal daily-driver task tool built around that AI-enabled matrix. You can invite others into your workspace if you want — family, a close collaborator, a small team — but at its core, Avklare is designed for one person deciding what matters today.
The Daily Mash-Up is your front door: log in, see what's actually worth doing right now, and go. Have just 15 minutes to work? Filter for and grab one of your high-impact tasks that can have a major impact in your work, in your life. The Matrix lets you step back and see the bigger picture visibly, unmistakably.
Who's behind it
Avklare is being built by a solo developer with decades of hands-on software experience — old enough to remember coding on an Apple II+, still writing code every day. It's a small, independent project, not a venture-backed startup chasing growth metrics. That means decisions get made because they make the product better, not because they make a pitch deck look better.
Where we are
Avklare is in beta. That means real, working software — but still evolving, with rough edges we're actively smoothing out based on feedback from people actually using it.
